Service, Commitment and Compassion: Kris Kabus honored with 30 years and gift to local charity

Today, we honor a familiar face who recently celebrated a big milestone. Kris Kabus, Lead Universal Banker at First National Bank Trust Company, is celebrating 30 years of service. In addition to an individual tenure gift, employees who serve more than 30 years with the bank receive $1,000 to donate to a charity of their choice, a donation that is made in their honor. As a Wisconsin native and Green Bay Packers fan, Kris has selected the Gilbert Brown Foundation.
The Gilbert Brown Foundation’s mission is to help serve youth in an environment that promotes structure and life skills awareness, by introducing team building skills, confidence and promoting diversity in the community. Gilbert encourages kids at school assemblies and various camps encouraging kids, teachers and parents to put a stop to bullying.
“I have been to fundraisers for the Gilbert Brown Foundation and his dedication to helping area youth in many ways is inspiring. I know every little bit helps any fundraiser, it would be extra special to know I made that big of a difference, to help even one child stop being bullied or bullying others in my mind is worth it,” Kris stated.
Moving to the area in 1993, she and her husband have loved calling Trempealeau County home. With nine years of prior banking experience, it was a natural fit to continue to use those experiences at the bank in Arcadia. Her roles at the bank have ranged from bookkeeping to operations to personal banking. After 30 years, Kris has had the opportunity to get to know numerous people and help them with their financial goals.
Kris also shares, “I have wonderful memories with great co-workers, many of which I now call friends. I especially like taking part in parades, school fundraisers and years of Heritage Club trips. I have enjoyed helping our clients with their financial needs and working at a community bank that always takes part in community events has always made me feel like part of the community.”
Three decades of navigating the finance world, fostering connections and embodying the essence of community banking is a momentous occasion.
