Celebrating 40 Years of Service: Lou Mollet

Today, we honor a familiar face at First National Bank and Trust Company who recently celebrated a remarkable milestone. Lou Mollet, longtime personal banker, is commemorating 40 years of dedicated service.

Additionally, First National Bank and Trust Company will make a $1,000 donation to a charity of Lou's choice, which is the Good Samaritan Inn in Decatur, Illinois. The organization serves lunch 365 days a year and operates a food bank to support individuals and families in need.

With growing community demand, this donation would help further the organization's mission of providing meals and essential resources to those who need them most.

When reflecting on the start of her banking career, Lou credits a fortunate opportunity that turned into a lifelong profession. As a lifelong resident of the area, her connection to First National Bank and Trust Company began early. 

"When I applied, I was lucky enough to be hired. I've just enjoyed all these years of helping others where I can," she said.

Over the last four decades, Lou has worn many hats throughout the organization, serving in roles ranging from client service representative to loan documentation. Along the way, she has built lasting relationships and witnessed generations of clients achieve their financial goals.

While choosing a favorite memory proved difficult, Lou said what stands out most are the people she has met throughout her career.

"Each person has their own story," she reflected. "I have opened accounts for people who were very young, and they still remember me as the person who opened their first account."

Those connections and the trust built over the years have made Lou a familiar and valued part of countless clients' lives, a testament to the lasting impact of community banking.
