This is how we ignite prosperity

What it means to IGNITE PROSPERITY®

February 28, 2024

As a purpose-driven organization, we find strength in our company’s story and are motivated to have more impact. First National Bank and Trust Company has a mission to IGNITE PROSPERITY® and is dedicated to changing lives and communities across central Illinois and western Wisconsin.

First National Bank and Trust Company was chartered in 1872 under the name DeWitt County National Bank, and we celebrated 150 years in 2022. Our company founders have encouraged us to be part of something bigger and to truly live for others. The company culture, rooted in the saying, “the troops come first,” established over the past 45 years is still thriving today.

Here is how we define what the phrase IGNITE PROSPERITY means to us:

We help our clients transform their lives.

We increase financial knowledge in our community.

We develop and invest in our employees.

We live generously both with our time and resources.

This is how we IGNITE PROSPERITY.

How we help our clients transform their lives.

As a community bank, First National Bank and Trust Company is an integral part of both the local community and economy. We want to come alongside our clients, like you, and help move the needle toward one-, five- or ten-year financial goals, together. It’s our hope you will make some small changes to have a brighter future and experience all life has to offer. We want to help you DO MORE with your money.

How we increase financial knowledge in our community.

It is our desire to increase financial knowledge in our communities. We do this through two in-school student-run bank branches (Clinton and DeLand-Weldon), classroom programming and in our daily conversations with clients. Our team is highly skilled to help you walk through any financial challenge or success. We know improving the overall financial health of our community will bring strength to our local businesses, families and schools.

How we develop and invest in our employees.

Whether it is one year or twenty-five years, we want to do our part to help our employees grow personally and professionally. Our team members are committed to life-long learning. We provide resources and training not only related to their current role but also for furthering their careers in addition to personal financial wellness courses, leadership courses and inspirational keynotes.

How we live generously both with our time and resources.

We believe reinvesting in the communities we serve is as important as the products and services we provide. We know the harder we work, the more we can give back. Giving is one of our company’s nine core principles and one we will always stand behind. We encourage others to live generously and pay it forward. As a community bank, we are inspired to give back in any way we can – whether that be financially or through volunteer hours.

We are more than a community bank.

We know for every penny saved, every child who learns the value of a dollar, every employee who is constantly improving and giving back, we are fulfilling our purpose. As Winston Churchill wrote, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” It’s not only about income and expenses, budgeting and choices, spending or saving. It’s more than the paycheck and more than paying bills, it’s about life…your life. It’s about truly living, paying it forward and making an impact for generations to come.

Our goal is to help you DO MORE with your money while creating lasting client and community prosperity. We invite you to join our purpose. Together, we can truly IGNITE PROSPERITY.

At First National Bank and Trust, we IGNITE PROSPERITY® by helping our clients do more with their money. Whether it’s saving a little extra cash each month or accomplishing a long-term strategy, our goal is to help you transform your financial life.
