First National Bank Partners with C.H. Moore Homestead DeWitt County Museum’s Buy a Board Campaign

First National Bank and Trust Company is excited to announce a matching gift program with DeWitt County Museum’s Buy a Board campaign. FNBT will match the purchase of the first 50 boards for a maximum amount of $1,000 from now until November 1, 2019.
The C.H. Moore Homestead DeWitt County Museum, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is a fully restored building and grounds depicting the elegant Victorian era and rich in history with connections between C.H. Moore and Abraham Lincoln.
The Buy a Board program is part of an effort to renovate the porch of the homestead. The museum hopes to sell 1,000 boards at $20 apiece. The project is in the fundraising stage and cleared the halfway goal of board commitments.
The C.H. Moore Homestead DeWitt County Museum is home to the famous Apple ‘n Pork Festival that takes place the last full weekend in September each year. Over 106,500 attended last year’s festival. Visitors enjoy over 25 food stands offering numerous old-fashioned food items, 19th century craft demonstrations, tours of the historic C.H. Moore Mansion, an antique tractor show, live music, meal grinding, rope-making, woodcarving and blacksmith demonstrations, living history interpreters, farm museum displays, pony rides and a large flea market with over 250 dealers.
Prior to being appointed museum director in 2014, Joey Woolridge was a festival volunteer for many years and a member of the DeWitt County Museum Association.

We see ourselves as 'the keepers of the history' and the caretakers of this beautiful historic landmark house,” said Woolridge. “The museum also provides educational opportunities and an economic impact through daily tours and the annual Apple ‘n Pork festival.”
