Clinton, IL, October 30, 2017 – First National Bank & Trust Company is excited to celebrate its 145th bank anniversary with a gift of $10,000 to the DeWitt County Development Council (DCDC). The funds will assist in a matching grant program alongside State Farm Insurance to support local businesses.

DCDC actively engages with current and potential businesses to market DeWitt County, with a mission to attract commerce and encourage job growth. The council promotes ideas for local business expansion and workforce development, and also provides direction for new and existing businesses or commerce seeking resources to enhance business operations.  The council plans to continue to fundraise and potentially hire a part time director position to help further these plans.

"We truly appreciate the community support by First National Bank," said David Torbert, DCDC President. With this generous gift, we are that much closer to our goal of raising the matching $25,000 through the State Farm Bank grant program. These funds are critical to our organization, as we strive to improve our local business climate and support our county's economic future."

First National Bank and Trust is dedicated to community prosperity and chartered in 1872 under the name DeWitt County National Bank. The name was changed to First National Bank and Trust Company in 1974, and was recently acquired by TS Banking Group in 2017.  First National Bank is dedicated to community reinvestment and gives 10% of its net income back to the community.  The bank has been in DeWitt County for 145 years.

"Partnering with an organization such as DCDC - an organization that shares our vision for community prosperity - is a natural fit,” said Josh Shofner. "We know these funds will continue to be used to provide resources to and help grow local businesses. In addition, knowing that State Farm will match their funds when they reach $25,000 creates even more value and excitement with this gift.”
