Applications open for First National Bank and Trust Company annual REV business pitch competition

August 6, 2020

First National Bank and Trust Company is now accepting applications for its annual REV event, a pitch competition offering entrepreneurs and business owners the chance to win up to $15,000. The bank partners with the DeWitt County Development Council (DCDC) to help provide this opportunity for business growth.

Applicants will be judged on their pitch, marketing, personal investment level and exit strategy.

The bank and DCDC will accept up to five businesses into the competition. Entrants will have 10 minutes to pitch their business concepts to a panel of four judges, followed by questions from the judges, made up of bank officials and other area business and development stakeholders.

This year’s event will be held virtually on November 6th.

First National Bank and Trust Company started REV four years ago in an effort to spur economic growth and encourage business owners to continue pursuing their dreams. During the first three competitions the bank awarded $30,000 to winners.

Judges chose three winners last year, giving $5,000 to C & P Custom Printing to purchase a new dryer for screen printing production; $3,000 to K & K Graphics to purchase a new lift to be able to do sign projects higher in the air; and $2,000 to The Yoga Space to launch a new mobile app and purchase financial reporting software.

The application deadline is October 5th, 2020. To apply, visit firstnbtc.com/revand download the REV application. If you have any questions, please reach out to Josh Shofner at First National Bank and Trust Company at 217-935-2148.
